Coaches, recommend your star players for FALL SELECT
The Fall Select program has started. Please don't forget to let your strongest players know about FALL SELECT. It started Sunday, Sept. 12, but it's not too late to have your players join. Don't let your U10, U12 or U14 players miss out on the opportunity to play club-level soccer at NO ADDITIONAL COST!
WHO DO I RECOMMEND?
Recommend your strongest players - those in the top 10% of the division. Fall Select is for players who are likely candidates to play on spring select (tournament) teams. Players who already played on spring teams this year are automatically eligible. Other players will be considered based on your recommendations.
HOW DO I RECOMMEND A PLAYER?
Let them know when and where to show up (see below) and send us an email to let us know who you are recommending. Send the email to: firstname.lastname@example.org (Cheryl Byrne) and email@example.com (Liz Grossman) If you are NOT recommending anyone, please send us an email letting us know that as well.
WHEN AND WHERE?
JAMS (Ocean Park and 16th) U10s - 11:00am - 1:00pm U12s - 1:00pm - 3:00pm U14s - 3:00pm - 5:00pm
WHAT WILL THEY DO?
The Fall Select coaches will work with the players on higher-level skills. We will also be looking to organize scrimmages against teams from other AYSO regions and club teams, based on availability. Players will not be broken up into permanent teams as they were last year for Flex. All coaches will be working with all the players in a rotating station format before breaking up to play scrimmage games at the end of practice.
WHO IS COACHING?
Those of you who are interested in coaching a spring or turkey team should definitely get involved in coaching this program. You'll get to know the future tournament players, they'll get to know you,and we'll get to see how everyone works together. Coaching players at a higher competitive level is a different challenge, and well worth the effort. If you are planning to come out this Sunday, please drop me (Christian Bordal ... firstname.lastname@example.org) and Liz Grossman, the Fall Select tsarina, a line to let us know you're coming.
