New Division Structure for our U5 through U8 Players
For Fall 2011, we have a new division structure for our younger players. Players in our previous U6 and U8 divisions are affected. We have also expanded our registration to include players born before 7/31/07.
NEW U5 division (now separate from u6): for boys and girls born 8/1/06 - 7/31/07
To increase the balance both within and among teams, Region 20 is excited to introduce our new u5 division. Additionally, this allows younger boys and girls to participate. The cut-off date is 07/31. If your child has turned 4 by that date, they are eligible to play. Fun-filled, intra- and inter-team games will be played in the 3v3 format (per National AYSO guidelines). That means lots of involvement and touches on the ball. Like u6, this division will have practice and games in 1-hour time slots on Saturdays. See the u5 division guidelines for more details.
NEW u7 division (now separate from u8): for boys and girls born 8/1/04 - 7/31/05
To increase the balance both within and among teams, Region 20 is excited to introduce our new u7 division. Additionally, this division will guarantee more involvement (touches on the ball), more time with the ball (fewer players on the pitch), and less stress (no goalkeepers). Action-packed, fun-filled games will be played in a 5v5 format with no goalkeepers (per National AYSO guidelines). This division will also continue the u6 format of “open substitution” which means very little time “sitting out”. Like u8, this division will have a 1-hour practice during the week and a game on Saturdays. See the u7 division guidelines for more details.
All division guidelines can be found on this website. (Please note that Region 20 differs from the National Guidelines in some divisions),
