All referees need to register with BOTH Santa Monica AYSO Region 20 and AYSO National every year.
New referees also need to complete an AYSO training course which covers the Laws of the Game, the way AYSO soccer games are structured (from opening coin-toss to closing handshakes), and the spirit and philosophy of AYSO. The introductory clinics are designed to be quick, easy, and fun to take - even for those with no prior soccer experience at all. You will also need to complete an online Safe Haven course.

This allows us to schedule your games. You will be asked for division preferences. This is a new system we are trying out and is separate from indicating your interest to be a referee during player registration or registering on eAYSO, the national site below.
DO NOT register any children at this time. We are only using this for referee volunteers this season.
Note for returning referees: If you have ever registered in eAYSO, please use the same email address, name & birthdate in both systems so they will synchronize.
At the end of the Santa Monica AYSO Referee Registration process there will be a text link to eAYSO.org, the online branch of the national AYSO organization. Please make sure that when you register with eAYSO.org you use the same first name, last name, birth date, and EMAIL ADDRESS as you did in the Region 20 Registration System so the two systems can synchronize.
The eAYSO pre-registration form for volunteers is required by child protection policies implemented by AYSO and many other youth sports organizations. All adult volunteers are required to register annually with AYSO. Additionally, all AYSO volunteers need to complete the Safe Haven course once in their AYSO career.
