LOTG: Law 6–The Other Match Officials

Law 6: The Other Match Officials

Previous editions of the LOTG called Law 6 “The Assistant Referees,” and the newer title tries to beef up their status from “assistants” to official “officials” and give them the respect they deserve

The Assistant Referee’s role is just as important as the Referee’s role, and the calls they inform/assist the referee with are often match outcome dependent. Period.

Law 6 describes the duties of AR, 4th Officials, AAR’s, and RAR.

The Law also has diagrams of the AR flag signals (see pp. 71-74).
