⚽ 2026–27 AYSO EXTRA™ & ALLIANCE Tryouts
Competitive, Year-Round Soccer for Players Born August 1, 2010 – July 31, 2017
Santa Monica AYSO is forming teams for the 2026–27 season! AYSO EXTRA™ (U10–U14) and AYSO Alliance (U12–U16) offer a year-round, club-style soccer experience while staying true to AYSO’s core values: development, inclusion, sportsmanship, and fun.
🔍 Tryout Overview
Players will be evaluated through a multi-phase, open tryout process, designed to test both skill and soccer IQ.
✅ All players are welcome to attend.
✅ Tryouts are run by independent 3rd-party trainers, ensuring a fair and objective process.
✅ Sessions include technical drills and short-sided scrimmages.
After the initial tryout week, a select group of players will be invited to a callback session for a second evaluation. Final rosters will be selected after the callback.
While coaches will observe and recommend players, final roster decisions are made by the Region 20 Board.
⚠️ Players not selected are strongly encouraged to continue their development through the AYSO Core Fall program and may participate in Spring Select or All-Star teams.

⚠️ Club Soccer & Other Sports
EXTRA is a high-commitment program. Players are selected with the understanding that:
-
They will not participate in Club soccer during the EXTRA Fall season
-
A player who joins a Club team after accepting a spot on an EXTRA roster should expect to lose their place
Spring participation in both Club and EXTRA may be considered on a case-by-case basis with approval from the Regional Commissioner or Program Director.
Players are also expected to prioritize AYSO soccer over other extracurriculars and consistently attend practices, games, and tournaments.
