⚽ Section 1 EXTRA Program Key Philosophies
The EXTRA Program is designed to offer accelerated player development by providing AYSO players the opportunity to play in a more competitive league. The program adheres strictly to AYSO’s Six Core Philosophies:
- Everyone Plays – Every player must play at least one half of each game.
- Balanced Teams – Multiple teams per gender/age group must be balanced.
- Open Registration – All players may try out; tryouts must be widely advertised.
- Positive Coaching – Coaches must be properly trained and of the highest caliber.
- Good Sportsmanship – All participants are held to a high standard of conduct.
- Player Development – Certified coaching supports meaningful skill advancement.
📄 Game Card Preparation
Coaches must print game cards in advance using the official AYSO template.
- Use quality card stock – flimsy paper gets damaged easily during games.
- Fill out player names and numbers in numerical order, along with your team info.
- Leave opponent info blank; referees will complete the back side on game day.

⛑️ First Aid / CPR Training
We strongly encourage coaches and team managers to maintain active First Aid and CPR certifications. This supports a safe environment for players at all times.
