Monday night Open Training

Did you know that every time your child touches a soccer ball they improve their skills as soccer players?  In AYSO Region 20 we want our children/players to have every opportunity to really develop in the short time we have them in the Fall, so we are providing an additional evening of soccer instruction EVERY MONDAY!

For some of us, the regular Core season has come to an end, but don’t despair, Monday Night Opening Training continues tonight for all players. If your kids still have the soccer itch, than have them come out and kick the ball around with their friends and trainers. After tonight, there’s only 2 more sessions…so don’t wait.

If you haven’t attended yet, don’t worry, you can register tonight. Simply bring a sign Medical Release Form. Remember that you can start and end the program at any time.

Monday Night Opening Training (MOT) continues today! MOT brings a combination of professional soccer trainers sponsor by Coerver and the UCLA Women Varsity soccer players helping to train our children in the fundamentals of soccer while they build community with players across teams. This program is OPEN TO REGISTERED REGION 20 BOYS & GIRLS with a 2010 (8U) to 2002 (16U) birth year.

WHERE? JOHN ADAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL FIELDS (16th Street & Ocean Park Blvd.)

WHEN?
PLEASE NOTE: You may come and leave at any time during your assigned time slot.

  • 7:00PM to 8:30PM (Registration 6:30-7:00)

Here is what you need to bring:

1.     A wet signed (not copied) Medical Release form for your child. (you only need to bring this the first time your child attends MOT – after that they will be able to check in on their own).

2.     A soccer ball for your child, marked with his or her name on it in permanent ink.

3.     Water for your child. (Water ONLY is enforced at JAMS)

4.     Shin guards for your child

COACHES – We highly recommend that all coaches attend the trainings to observe.  This is your chance to observe another trainer working with your players’ age group.

PARENTS – We kindly request that you wait for your child off the field.  If you will be dropping your child off, please be on time to pick them up. 25

If your child is interested in becoming a better player AND would like the opportunity to make new friends, we hope you will consider adjusting your busy schedules to allow them to attend.

Welcome to the Fall Season

Let’s Play Soccer – we’re excited to kick the season off this weekend with lots of new and familiar faces. If this is your first season with AYSO get ready to have a ton of fun making new friends while improving your soccer game.

You’ll have many opportunities to develop your skills not only at practice and games, but also at the Blair Renshaw 5 x 5 Tournament during the Soccer Fun Day, the Turkey Tournament, and for players U8 and older Monday Night training with professional coaches from Coerver and the UCLA Women’s soccer team. The Monday Night training is available free to all of our U8+ Region 20 players – be sure to check it out at least once this season!

Beyond the pitch, players have the chance for team fun attending LA Galaxy and UCLA soccer games and participating in the VIP Program. The older teams may even have the chance to travel for international play.

We’ve got a lot of great things happening in our region, and it’s all thanks to our dedicated parents and community volunteers. With AYSO everyone plays and everyone volunteers – that means we need your help to give our kids the best soccer experience possible. Volunteering is a great way to get involved and the more involved you are the more fun you’ll have! I’ve been volunteering with the region close to ten years and I can tell you every year has been more fun than the last! I hope you enjoy the season as much as I’ve enjoyed being a part of the region over the years, and I look forward to meeting you on the pitch!
